While Dr. Marcus was pursuing her MBA at Pace University, she interned with the New York City Office of Collective Bargaining where she worked closely with city arbitrators. After graduation, she was involved in the negotiation and arbitration process for three years with Doctor's Council.

Dr. Marcus earned her Ph.D. in American studies at the University of New Mexico and now is a professor at a local Santa Fe college where she teaches mediation among other subjects.
